Alex Freitas is a creative and versatile filmmaker / editor with 20 years of experience . His combination of strong storytelling, composition, playful ideas and eye for capturing raw honesty, is inherent in all of his work and has lead him to being one of the more sought after feature film editors in Toronto.
Following in the footsteps of one of his early heroes (Robert Rodriguez), Alex has emerged as a one-man filmmaking machine. His latest feature Trigger is an action-packed thrill-ride which he not only directed but also wrote, co-produced, shot, edited and executed all of the visual effects.
In 2018, Trigger secured global distribution becoming a true indie filmmaking success story and is now available on popular platforms such as Amazon Prime and iTunes.
Alex's most recent editing titles include Trading Paint (Travolta), Future World (Franco), A Perfect Plan (Foresythe), Arctic Justice (Renner), and Learning to Love Again (Pirvu).
Whether it’s crafting a narrative from seemingly random imagery, or conveying an idea from script to screen, Alex's aim is always to depict a story that gets the best emotional response and engagement from the viewer.
